Journal of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology (PMI Journal)

32nd Annual Meeting of the European Orthopaedic Research Society (EORS 2024)

The Journal of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology (PMI Journal), formerly known as APMIS, is a non-profit, peer-reviewed scientific journal.  Since 2019, CAP Partner has acted as the journal’s strategic and operational partner, providing both day-to-day editorial management and long-term development support.

      Challenge

The Journal of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology (PMI Journal), formerly known as APMIS, is a non-profit, peer-reviewed scientific journal with a legacy dating back to 1924. As the journal evolved, it faced a series of challenges common to long-standing academic publications:

      • Modern identity needed: The journal’s scope had broadened over the years, requiring a refreshed name, visual identity, and positioning to better reflect its interdisciplinary and international focus.
      • Complex editorial operations: Managing manuscript submissions, coordinating peer reviews, and liaising with authors and publishers required a more structured and professional editorial support setup.
      • Visibility in a competitive landscape: Increasing global outreach and attracting high-quality submissions were essential to maintain the journal’s relevance and scientific standing.
      • Sustainable development: Beyond operational needs, the journal sought a strategic partner who could support its long-term development into a more modern, efficient, and impactful publication.

        Solution

Since 2019, CAP Partner has acted as the journal’s strategic and operational partner, providing both day-to-day editorial management and long-term development support. The collaboration includes:

        • Editorial office and secretariat services: CAP Partner handles the daily editorial processes—manuscript submissions, peer review coordination, and communication with the publisher. This ensures a stable, efficient, and professional infrastructure that supports the Editor-in-Chief and editorial board.
        • Digital presence and author engagement: PMI Journal has launched a modern, user-friendly website that showcases current content, calls for papers, and author resources—strengthening its role as a central hub for the journal’s community. At the same time, a revitalized social media strategy has increased visibility and engagement through regular, targeted content promoting articles and journal news.
        • Strategic support and development: CAP Partner continuously advises the journal on growth opportunities, content strategy, and outreach initiatives aimed at increasing scientific impact and operational sustainability.
